The use of TopDown analysis was used to understand the flow of the market. The daily timeframe was used to see where the market is, and the price was noticed to be at a level of resistance where the price has been rejecting this zone for the past few weeks. I dropped down to the 4-hour timeframe to get a clearer picture and noticed that although the price is in an overall downtrend GBP has created a new high and DXY is indicating a move upwards therefore pushing GBP downwards. Dropped down to the 15 min timeframe where I saw the bullish engulfing pattern occur at the level of resistance and once the price broke I waited for a retest on the 5 min timeframe and entered the trade. Price was quite consolidative and was not giving a clear direction that it wanted to move to. Caught 4 pips as the Asian session was quite reactive making the London session consolidative.
