November Analysis

I could not get anything right last month with day trading. I think a 2 big reasons for that was (1) small caps were totally dried up and (2) the few moves that did happen I wasn't mentally there due to my swing trades taking so much of my attention and emotional energy. Trading is a lot of managing emotions and being patient. I had little of that left for day trading.

Day trading stats very low amount of trades. Usually, this is closer to 500. Horrible win ratio as well 52.52%. Even my risk:reward (r:r) was negative -2.51%:1.64%. Not a lot I did right. Again mostly distracted by swings but overall that seemed to be worth it.

The biggest winners and looser were option trades! How weird. Kinda sums up the fact I went very unorthodox las month

24 swing trades done in November crazy! Fantastic R:R ratio and win %. This market is much better for multi-day holds and buying off support. I'd like to keep doing that. A lot of my mistakes came from chasing swing trade tickers and getting stopped out. Set-and-forget limit orders seems to always be the best way to go about it.

Plans Going Forward

  1. General
    1. Fewer options for now. Intra-day trading on the SPY is okay but swing trading options need to spend more time studying before I get back into it
  2. Swing trading
    1. look for classic momo setups but on 15m+ ideally 4 hour. Then accumulate as the price is below VWAP
  3. Day trading
    1. Get back to the basics.
    2. Get more aggressive early on, especially with size.
    3. Keep trading tickers on frontside with smaller sizes.
