Notes
Didn't trade it earlier in the day because it was up a lot without any real catalyst or news. However, after seeing it break out so strongly and have some really clean bounces it seemed safe enough for a one or two minute dip trade. Of course I just happened to buy at the same exact minute as it got halted on pending news as NASDAQ investigated the company for some shady insider buying. After being halted for hours, it crashed hard as would be expected and I am just holding now to try to take a less than $50 loss.
Exit: Ended up sitting on this one for way longer than I wanted to. Formed a level of resistance at 1.20 popping up here and there usually in premarket sessions which I always missed. I eventually set a limit order at that price hoping that I'd be able to get out on a random spike or on some positive news. The company had a patent approval and my alert went off when it broke above 1 and was halted at 1.15. After being subdollar for so many weeks, I should have left my limit order at 1.20 and gotten out, but I got greedy and was hoping it would break even higher. It began selling off pretty rapidly and I got out at 1.05, which was a stupid error on my part getting a worse entry than I should've, but I am glad that I can just be out of this one and out above a dollar at least. This was a very unfortunate trade, not necessarily because of bad trading on my part but just caught at a bad time in a bad company; this one was a bummer but I have new rules because of it, and I am just gonna eat this loss and learn.
